History

The Chausath Yogini temple at Mitawali (Morena) is a circular, hypaethral shrine of sixty-four yoginis, often compared in plan to later circular buildings. It is a rare surviving yogini-chakra of central India.

• Sixty-four yoginis are Shakti’s emanations; dancing in a circle they guard the bindu of the Mother.
