History
Jogulamba at Alampur, Telangana, stands at the Tungabhadra–Krishna sangam beside the Navabrahma Chalukya temples. The original peetha was damaged in medieval raids and the Goddess was later reinstalled in a new shrine, restoring one of the eighteen Maha Shakti Peethas to active worship.
Legends
- The upper teeth of Sati are associated with this peetha; Jogulamba is a fierce yogini-form of the Mother.
- Worship here with nearby Brahmeswara is said to grant both yoga siddhi and worldly protection.
