History

Maluti in Jharkhand is a village of terracotta temples blending Bengal and Mithila craft, mostly dedicated to Shiva and Devi. The cluster is a rare surviving brick-temple landscape of the Santhal-border hills.

• Local rajas endowed dozens of miniature temples as punya; Durga and Kali puja still animate the grove.
