History

Vighnahar at Ozar is the Ashtavinayak of the Vighnasura-vadha story, on the Pune–Nashik route. The hill-facing temple is a living stop on the eight-Ganesha circuit.

• Ganesha defeated the demon Vighnasura here and took the name Vighnahar — remover of obstacles — which is how most Hindus invoke him daily.
