History

Lower Ahobilam (Prahladavarada) is the accessible base shrine of the Nava Narasimha forest complex. Sri Vaishnava mathas have served this temple as the gateway to the nine forms in the Nallamala hills.

• Prahladavarada is Narasimha as boon-giver to Prahlada — the peaceful face after the ugra slaying, so children and elders can take darshan before the tougher upper shrines.
