History

Mattapalli Narasimha is a cave shrine on the Krishna, one of the Pancha Narasimha kshetras of the Telugu country. The river-cave setting has drawn yatis and householders for centuries.

• The swayambhu Narasimha in the cliff is said to have manifested for rishis on the Krishna; water and stone are his garbhagriha.
