History

The Navabrahma temples at Alampur are early Chalukya shrines at the Tungabhadra–Krishna sangam, facing the Jogulamba Peetha. Nine temples named after Brahma forms make this one of the Deccan’s oldest surviving Shaiva clusters.

Legends

• Brahma is said to have worshipped Shiva here; the sangam itself is a southern Prayag for many Telugu pilgrims.
